NEWSLETTER SEPTEMBER 09
We met with new friends the last weeks, all students coming to Lund, like Willy, Yocie and Thessie from Indonesia, Katherine from Corea, Yvonne from Singapore, Sheri from India, Magnus from Norway, Benedikt from Gemany and Aude and Jennifer from France. Among others, not to forget the Swedes! I hope we together can create a good athmoshpere of receiving one another here at Sandgatan.
-That reminds of the beautiful passage in Genesis: three strangers comes to the tent of Abraham and Sarah, and are welcomed with opened arms, offered only the best things – And the fruit of this welcoming? Well, Sarah, an old woman, can welcome in her turn hers and Abrahams first newborn child a year later. Welcoming others, in the name of God, without expecting something from them, means that life flourish and grows in our world.
We also welcome Judy´s little boy Amani Robin Gaunitz, born 14th of September! And congratulate Judy and Peter!
You now find the Gospel for next Sunday in English on this blog, look beneath.
Lunches after Student Mass on Wednesday are dependent of friends offering an hour to prepare the meal for the others. Put your name on the fridge in the kitchen at Sandgatan. Being two preparing makes it easier, think of that. You can also prepare the evening before and bring it to Sandgatan. –Our lunches are an opportunity to raise questions and discuss things on life and death- or other things – come with your questions. Maybe I am wrong, but I get the impression that in the student world in Lund many funny things happens – but also that for many students occasions of more serious talk are not so frequent. We could be such a place, if you want to.
The Taizégathering in Lund the weekend November 13th-15th is approching. Look for detailed program during this month. There will be prayers in the big cathedral of Lund and various meetings and seminares. Brother Matthew from Taizé will also participate.
